How King Khan Will Celebrate His 50th B'day
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... We've got all the details on Shah Rukh Khan's big day
Fifty and still batting strong, Shah Rukh Khan has planned a celebration with a difference for his 50th birthday on November 2.
The accent will be on connecting with his devout fans, not only from Mumbai and other parts of the country, but from overseas as well. A splashy event, in the course of which King Khan will interact with his fans at a 5-star hotel in Bandra, is on the cards.
Needless to add, the print and electronic media will be in full attendance. The event organisers, it is learnt, have been instructed that a good time should be had by all. The manic frenzy of the paparazzi and TV crews, which breaks out at star events, will be streamlined. Fingers and toes crossed.
Evidently Shah Rukh, now that he has completed half a century of his life and 23 years in the big Bollywood movies, beginning with Deewana (1992) co-starring Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti, will be projected as 'People's Person' or 'Janata ka Aadmi'.
Gauri Khan, sources confirm, hasn't sent out any formal invitations to the Khan's friends, old and new, in the film industry. However, an impromptu late evening bash at the Khan residence, Mannat, appears to be a given.
SRK's son Aryan and daughter Suhana have jetted in from London, where they are pursuing their studies, to be with their dad on his big day.
A well-placed source stated that all is "hunky dory" on the Khan family front. In fact, since there is no formal birthday event in the evening -- which frequently stretches on till the early morning hours -- additions and omissions from the usual invitation list at the bashes hosted by Gauri and SRK, should be no cause for controversy.
